Inappropriate Log Level (ARCH6161)

Key ruby.logging.inappropriate-log-level · Severity info · Category logging

Logging errors at info/debug hides alerts; logging routine flow at error creates noise. The wrong level breaks alerting priorities.

Incorrect

rescue => e
  Rails.logger.info("Payment failed", exception: e)
end

Correct

rescue => e
  Rails.logger.error("Payment failed", exception: e)
end

Fix

Match severity to the level: error for failures, warn for expected problems, info for routine flow.
